"Failed to connect to database"

Hi

I keep on getting an error message "Failed to connect to database" 
when I select cpconfig>gui client (3). For the management server.
It would be much appreciated if anyone could help me.

What version?

Is this is a new installation, existing installation, or?

Are you running cpconfig on:

  • gateway
  • management
  • all in one

One thing to check is to run "show host names" and see if the host itself shows up.

Check the license if is valid.

Do a # cprestart instead - you can see if anything is broken and licenses are missing...

If license is expired or some blades are missing (wrong license), it will not be shown during cpstop/cpstart.

#cplic print is best for license checking.

I'm getting the same "failed to connect to database" error after doing a migrate export/import from a smart-1 appliance to a VM mgmt server on R80.10.  I've tried all of the steps here.  What's strange is that it occurred after i had to re-add my admin account.  Any other ideas?

Hi I have a R80.20 MGT i get Failed to connect to database it was working but i did a cpstop;cpstart troubleshooting an issue

there is no gui-clients file so sk119732 is not relevant

$FWDIR/scripts/cpm_status.sh
Check Point Security Management Server is during initialization

 

it is licensed  anyone seen this issue ?

hosts file is correct

any help is apprdciated
