policy installation alert

In previuos version of Checkpoint we set up an alert for whenever a new policy was installed on the gateway.

It seems that R80.10 requires a special license for SmartEvent Blade in order to get this simple functionality back.  Does not seem logical to have to pay this for three gateways.

Does anybody know of a simple alternative to set up this alert?

Thanks.

Pretty sure you can still do this in SmartView Monitor without a SmartEvent license.

Instructions similar to here: How to configure mail alerts for policy installation

To actually launch SmartView Monitor:

  • Open SmartConsole > Logs & Monitor.
  • Open the catalog (new tab).
  • Click Tunnel & User Monitoring.

Thanks for your response.

But I believe that the mail alert for policy installation is activated in the "SmartEvents settings and Policy" external application, which only appears in the "new tab" when the "SmartEvent Server" license is active.

I have not been able to find a way to activate an alert on policy installation in the "Tunnel and User monitoring" tab.
