R80.40 HTTPS Inspection and Older Gateways

Hi everyone,

We will be upgrading our management servers to R80.40 soon. We currently use https inspection on our edge gateways running R80.20. We will be upgrading these to R80.40 at a later date. In the meantime, once our management is upgraded to R80.40, will our R80.20 gateways use the new integrated HTTPS inspection policy, or will there still be an old SmartDashboard version of the HTTPS policy hanging around that we will need to use until we upgrade our gateways?

Thanks

Dave

Hi,

it depends on the Management Version so if you upgrade to R80.40 on the management you will have the new Policy Layer 🙂

The HTTPS Inspection policy layer in R80.40 will push to the R80.20 gateways just fine assuming you don't use objects not supported in R80.20 in the policy (e.g. Updatable Objects).

@David_C1 ,

as @PhoneBoy and @Marcel_Gramalla mentioned, you can manage your HTTPS-policy with R80.40 SmartConsole and push to older gateway version.

But there are still some settings only available in old SmartDasboard, like trusted CAs, server certificates ...

Maybee some day, we don't need no more the old SmartDashboard, maybe with version R100 or something else 🙄
