Minor annoyance with shell access from SmartConsole in R80.20

Well, it is a convenient option to launch the shell from SmartConsole, even if most of us prefer Putty or SecureCRT.

Unfortunately, it appears that only a single shell session could be launched at a time.

isn't that "per design" Vlad? Smiley Happy why would you need more than ONE at the time? you can do more via SecureCRT/Putty indeed but from the SmartConsole perspective I'd have thought this is the only viable option at the mo?

Was working remotely using one of the Client's PCs with no terminal emulators installed.

The SmartConlole was white-listed and available.

So why "design" the limitation of no concurrency of console sessions?

I'd think it is an oversight.

Keep in mind that CLI is limited to API calls and not some of the more useful features of CLI access.

That said, seems to be reasonable that maybe multiple windows are still supported.

Dameon,

I am not talking about CLI, which is this:

but about the shell access that is available from right-click on gateway object "Action" menue:

Not only you cannot open another instance of it, you cannot navigate away from that window to the rest of the SmartConsole, as long as this shell session is open.

Oh, that's different.

But yeah, that's an area for improvement Smiley Happy
