Import Log Files

R80.20 to R80.30 Advanced Upgrade.

I am performing an advanced upgrade to a new VM ( MDS Server ) to get the benefit of the XFS file system. I am aware that , I need to copy all the logs files ( 300 GB)  from each CMA's logs directory to the new CMA's log directory.

Question is ,

1. Do I need to copy any index files including log files ?

2. OR Can I copy only log files and restart the indexing in each CMA ?

Thanks

You need to copy the log files and pointers (e.g. $FWDIR/log/*.log*) but not the indexes, as those will need to be (re)generated.

Do I need to run any commands after copying the files to start indexing ? does it go through all the log files and index ?
