Check Point R80.30 with kernel 3.10 on VMware servers

Dear CheckMates fellows,

Is the release R80.30 with kernel 3.10 valid on VMware, when looking for a management station only?

sk152652 list VMware for supported plattforms olny in the "CloudGuard" section.

I need to install a new Management station and I like to use R80.30 with kernel 3.10 on a VMware ESXi system....

Thanks a lot and best regards,

Christian

I have the same version and environment running so i would assume it is supported 😉

But if you consult the R80.30 Release Notes p.17 you will find :

Check Point Product

Red Hat Enterprise Linux

VMware ESXi

Microsoft Hyper-V*

Security Management Server

7.3 or higher

5.x, 6.x

Windows 2012 R2, 2016 (64-bit only)*

Multi-Domain Security Management Server

7.3 or higher

5.x, 6.x

Windows 2012 R2, 2016 (64-bit only)*

ESXI is classed as Private IaaS which is Cloudguard still but for Private ie ESXi, vmware, Cisco ACI etc rather then Public Cloud such as Azure, AWS etc

So should be good.   Run this combo and works fine
