Unfortunately, Gaia does not offer a way to change the default FTP port for backups.

It's a product limitation, like I said.

I'm also using win server 2012 R2 as my backup server.

In my case , I'm using filezila server on win2012R2 : FileZilla - The free FTP solution

I less prefer the build-in ftp that part of Microsoft .

with my case , I had to configure windows's firewall for the FTP traffic in order it to work.

did you check these ?

1. Gaia backup via FTP / TFTP fails with "file transfer failed" error

Cause

FTP / TFTP password contains at least one of the illegal characters:

  • < - less than
  • > - greater than
  • & - ampersand
  • ; - semi-colon
Solution

Change the FTP / TFTP password, so that it does not contain any of the illegal characters.

2. Scheduled Gaia backup fails in R77.30

Cause
  • Scheduled backup password configured in Gaia Clish R77.30 is corrupted.
  • Scheduled backup password configured in previous Gaia version gets corrupted after upgrade to R77.30.
Solution

This problem was fixed. The fix is included in:

The answer to this question really depends on your FTP server.

I recommend using a command line FTP client and log into the server using the same credentials as you configure your Gaia backups to use.

Navigate around the directory structure (using cd, dir, etc) until you find the place you want to upload the backups.

Type the command pwd.

The output of pwd is what you should configure Gaia to use.

I don't believe you can backup to an FTP server on a different port.

This is a product limitation.

I was able to get my R80.10 and R80.20 SMS to backup to a windows filezilla server with the following syntax.   I created an admin user on the filezilla server with the home shared folder "c:\backup".

Since it took a few attempts on the path syntax I decided to post my commands.

add backup-scheduled name "backup" ftp ip 10.1.1.32 path "/c/backup/" username "admin" password vpn123
set backup-scheduled name backup recurrence daily time 07:46
