kernel: FW-1: stopping debug messages for the next 60 seconds

Hello,

Trying to debug an issue, kernel debugging intermittently stops with the message:

kernel: FW-1: stopping debug messages for the next 60 seconds

(or some other number close to 60 seconds)

How do I make it run continuously?

Thanks,

Marki

Maybe run fw ctl debug 0 and fw ctl debug -x commands and then try again. If that does not work, I would contact TAC, never seen that message before.

Best,
Andy

Please provide the exact commands you are using, whether they are zdebug or the old way involving multiple commands.  You need to allocate a larger message buffer and/or specify additional filtering on your debug.  Example with a max size buffer and specifying matching IP addresses and port numbers:

    • fw ctl debug 0

    • fw ctl debug -buf 8192

    • fw ctl set str simple_debug_filter_saddr_1 “192.168.11.101”

    • fw ctl set str simple_debug_filter_saddr_2 “192.168.12.101”

    • fw ctl set int simple_debug_filter_dport_1 8000

    • fw ctl debug -m fw + conn

    • fw ctl kdebug -T -f > /var/log/all2

    • fw ctl debug 0
