Static route does not work

Hi,

I am curious why my added static route does not get effectiv. The route shows up via "netstat -nr" and there is no other route I can see for this network:

100.66.36.0 192.168.54.36 255.255.248.0 UGD 0 0 0 eth10

tracert shows

[Expert@FW:0]# tracert 100.66.36.10
traceroute to 100.66.36.10 (100.66.36.10), 30 hops max, 40 byte packets
1 oldgw.acme.int (192.168.54.37) 4.602 ms 4.870 ms 5.202 ms

Anybody any idea how to troubleshoot ?

I can not even find info via it routes the traffic to 192.168.54.37 ...

Thanks and regards

Tom

Tom,

please send us a "show route" from clish prompt. Maybe you didn't delete the old route ?

Hi Wolfgang,

show route in clish shows the same as netstat -nr with correct route added and no other route for this network (also no overlapping).

Is 192.168.54.36 a HSRP Address and 192.168.54.37 the physical IP of the HSRP Master Unit.

Tend to find that in traceroute that the Active Unit in  HSRP responds with it's IP rather then the HSRP address
