New device - same IPs

Hi Guys,

I had this raised with CP, but I still have not got a firm answer. I recently replaced my management server(VM) with a new VM and gateway(4600) with a different 4600.

I have kept the same IPs for both devices for licensing purposes, however the MAC addresses have now changed.

The original license references the original MAC address for the IPs.

Do I need to re-create the license files for the same IPs but with the new MAC address? This was my question to CP that was not answered.

This is something I've done a long time ago since the IP never changes, however I do not recall the MAC address field in the User Center Portal. Am I wrong?

I'm looking forward to your reply.

Kind regards,

Octavian

Licenses that come with Check Point appliances are tied to that specific appliance (e.g. with MAC address) and cannot be moved to other systems/VMs.

I suggest working with Account Services to get this corrected.

Thank you. I was probably clear enough. I have moved the management vm to a management vm, and the gateway appliance to another gateway appliance that we had spare.

Kind regards,

Octavian
