Can't establish CPMI connection to Standalone Appliance - Clean Install

Jump to solution

Hi All,

I am having some trouble to get my 2200 to work, i just installed r77.30 to the box and configured it to be a Standalone appliance. I ran the first time configuration wizard and configured the box.

When i want to connect to the box via SmartDashboard i immediately get a error message saying:

Connection cannot be initiated.
Please make sure that the Server 'x.x.x.x' is up and running. Please make sure you are configured as GUI client

Offcourse i triple checked the GUI clients option which is configured on "Any".

While digging deeper i debugged FWM and found the following error messages:

CMgmtListener::InitSICData() - Error getting sic name from registry !!!

I dont know what iam doing wrong here but this is a clean install which should just work out of the box right?

It looks like a SIC / Authentication problem on the box ???

Anybody got ideas?

Kind regards,

Jelle

Hi Jelle,

Did you try performing this: sk122612.

Since you mentioned its Cleaninstall of R77.30 , better this will heelp you to open Dashboard after installing Jumbo HF R77.30, then Regenerating Internal CA.

Fresh Security Management Server / Standalone installation on Gaia

Show / Hide this section
  1. Install R77.30 Jumbo Hotfix take 143 or above
  2. Run cpconfig
  3. Choose 'Certificate Authority' option
  4. Press 'y' to initialize the CA

  5. Run cprestart

Wow, thank you mate! You saved my day. This was indeed the problem Smiley Happy I did not come across this SK thanks again!

I also had a problem importing the new DA agent package (Offline), to solve this i updated the package via the Online Web GUI method.
