Files encryption with FDE

Hi everyone.

Please, could someone help with me this question that a customer asked to me :

With Full Disk encryption, is it possible to encrypt a file so that the same file cannot be open if it is copied on another computer ?

Thanks in advanced !!!

Hi,

The answer is no.

FDE encrypts the disk on sector level and thus FDE is unaware of individual files. In practice this means that the content of the files are decrypted prior to being copied to other media or shares.
