156-820.77 MDM with VSX after CCSE R80

Hello guys,

Just a small question that came into my mind. I'm currently thinking about attending the course for the 156-820.77 Multi-Domain Security Management with Virtual System Extension, together with the exam.

As far as I understand this course is only available for the R77 release and therefore the certification exam will be R77 related - together with the cert in the end. My "problem", or more or less question, is; is it possible to attend to this exam without having a R77 CCSE but only a R80 one? And if that should be possible - will it extend my R80 CCSE or does it count as a separate track on its own, as it is R77 based? And lastly, are there any plans to release that course and exam for the R80 track?

If you take the R77 CCMSE exam (156-820.77) and have the R80 CCSE we will allow it to satisfy the prerequisite. But you will need to reach out to me via email (tug@checkpoint.com) as the system will not recognize the prerequisite.

The CCSE however is not extended by achieving this certification; even if it was the same version it wouldn’t. The CCSE is on it's own 2 year expiration. But since the CCMSE is higher than the CCSE, a CCMSE certified individual will receive the same privilege as the CCSE, including partner status.

As far as the R80 version of this course, it is on the roadmap and I would expect to see it in 2019. An exam would follow the course release. Email courseware@checkpoint.com

As of today only the R80 VSX specialist course is available. The exam should be released soon.
I'm checking vue.com/checkpoint/exams every single day.

What about the Multi-Domain Manager course? There used to be a 5 day course with both combined.

It's a separate specialist course now and up to the ATC to provide one after another, VSX+MDSM that is. The exam is also expected to be available soon.
