Its nice to see that check point is releasing alot of certificates but the direction seams very unclear.

What is the goal with them, is CCSE going to be require multiple certificates?
Will these specialist exams extend CCSA/CCSE/CCSM ?

Now we have ~10 specialist exams.

I ran the CCTA class 2 weeks ago with R80.40 and it went well, lots of good troubleshooting stuff and the labs are pretty good. With the pacing of the class I also had plenty of time to go off on real-world troubleshooting tangents.

Question for me CCSM contains only troubleshooting with a very good level for non Check Point employees. What exactly is the difference to CCTA? Is there different content? Other things to learn? Same question for the CCTE. Does someone has already experience?

The CCTA class takes the CCSA topics (Access Control policy and associated features basically) and gets into much more troubleshooting depth. Using fw monitor, fw ctl zdebug drop, SmartConsole issues, gateway logging problems, NAT debugging, HTTPS Inspection, extended VPN debugging, etc. I suppose some of the CCTA content overlaps with the discontinued CCSM class but not much.

I have not run a CCTE class, so I can't comment there. Looks like it takes the CCSE topics (Threat Prevention and such) and does a deep dive for troubleshooting.

There do not appear to be any. Normally you can purchase the courseware kits for classes such as CCSA and CCSE directly from pricelist.checkpoint.com, but CCTA is not listed as an option under the Specialist courses.

It does not appear that the CCTA courseware can be purchased separately through pricelist.checkpoint.com or Kortext, at least that I can find. Looks like the only way to obtain it is to register for the CCTA class with a Check Point ATC. Tagging @Toni_Ponder in case my conclusion is not correct.

Andreas - We do not recommend the sale of the training course e-kit as a stand-alone item. The material is developed for instructor-led training delivery. Also, there is no post-sales support offered. If you still want to follow the self-study path, contact your Check Point reseller for pricing and ordering.

We would highly encourage the training course be purchased from an ATC partner for the best experience.

Hi Toni,

well ... i work with Check Point since almost 20 years. I dont think i dont need any of your ATC courses since i have more practical knowlede as almost all your trainers.

I know this is not polite what i am writing but it was also not polite from your side! Not everybody need a trainer. I only need this as a reference for my library to have a look at it.

I dont need any deeper explanation for the content. I just want to buy a book were things are put together so is dont need to look up everything on your web page. Since there is almost everything you need to survive.

So just to be fair. Books are needed and should be available for everybody on this planet. Course is nice but now suitable for everyone - timebased and knowled based as well.

Sorry for my harsh words but i am sick of this topic. Thank you.

The e-kit may be purchased as a stand-alone item (w/out the training course). Although that is not recommended.
Contact your Check Point reseller for more assistance with the order.

The certification training e-kit is not recommended for self-study. It is developed to be delivered by an ATC partner instructor.

Those courses posted at https://training-certifications.checkpoint.com/#/ include the e-kit training material.

However, if your preferred path is self-study, contact your Check Point distributor or reseller to purchase the e-kit.

List price of each CCTA and the CCTE e-kit is $400 USD.

Note there is not additional discount for a non-ATC partner purchase, nor is there post-sale support of the labs, etc.
