CCSM renewal

Hello mates,

due to CCSM expiring in August, i just tried to have a look at Pearson VUE to see if it is possible to get a schedule for my CCSM renewal.

But.....

edit tells me that inline image seems not to work, so

see picture CSM.png in attachment.

Does anybody know how to recertify?

Hello Vincent,

if you already pass the CCSM R80 Exam then it is not possible to take the Exam again.

You can find this information in the Certification Q&A.

You only can take the CCSE R80 Update Exam more than one time.

All the Exams CCSA R80, CCSE R80 and CCSM R80 can be pass one time.

You have to wait for the R81 CCSM Exam to take it again.

Q: I wanted to extend my certification by retaking my last exam but got the information from Pearson VUE that I’m not allowed to do so because I’ve already finished that. How do I extend my certification?

A: Check Point policy is that you do not retake an exam you have already passed. You either update or upgrade. Ideally, the best course is to take the next higher exam.The one exception is the #156-915.80: Check Point Certified Security Expert Update - R80. You may recertify the R80 CCSE by taking this exam again

So when our current R80 CCSM expires - we do not hold Master qualification any more - we lose Expert access to SK articles ? or will Check Point extend it until a few months after the R81 CCSM is released ?

Hi Vincent,

please open a non-technical service request with Account Services, they will take care of it.

Check Point will either:

extend your CCSM R80 until CCSM R81 certification is available
allow recertification of CCSM R80
allow another certification to add to your CCSM R80 extension

Check Point needs to provide you with a solution to keep your CCSM certification current because:

Check Points Stars Partner Program (Datasheet) requires partners to have a minimum of CCSE or higher professionals with a valid certification
SecureKnowlege access level depends on your certification (FAQ)
Service Requests can only be pushed to a product specialist directly when you have valid CCSM certification
you only get Engage points when you are allowed to recertify
any many more reasons

Your CCSM R80 badge should show this extension as well. I recommend to request this within your open Service Request, too.

Oh yes, thanks for the hint. Now as you mention this, i remember that after passing my maestro exam (CCME) i got no badge at all. Is there no badge for this?

Spoiler: there is no Expert access in SecureKnowledge anymore. The access level is now flat, meaning everyone can access both Advanced and Expert articles.

You might lose your escalation rights, but it is the best to take it with the local Check Point office. They will help you out.
