topic SMB GW is lost after soon IPS Update in Spark Firewall (SMB)

Hi mates,

SMB cluster does IPS update every night. last week 2 minutes after IPS update started, the member in standby went down. Then we had to reboot the standby device. Then we saw on the smart console that the IPS update status version is not the same in both members. Then smart console also started giving an IPs is not responding message, so the policy installation failed. We then had to disable and enable the IPS blade. so policy installation worked. After that, when we looked at the dr spark logs, we got too many connections error (Error with the amount of entries: ). So I wondered because of that error if the gateway might be down. It was just doing an IPS update in the evening, why so many connection etries was there because of IPS update. What could that have to do with the IPS update? This situation has happened to us many times. How can we find a permanent solution to this.

Thanks

Note R81.10.05 Build 996001301 is the current image replacing earlier ones.

Alternatively please contact TAC to investigate the issue further if you haven't already done so. https://help.checkpoint.com
