Will update here when I have an answer / reference to share.

disable automatic firmware upgrade

We have a bunch of 15xx appliances running , central managed by a SMS (no SMP and no LSM).

Will be there a way to disable the automatic firmware-upgrade, there is no option to disable in the Web-UI.

CLI command "set cloud-services-firmware-upgrade activate false" looks like relevant only if connected to SMP.

Any command available to disable these automatic upgrades ?

According to Quantum Spark 1500, 1600 and 1800 Appliance Series R80.20.40 Centrally Managed Administration Guide p.124:

To automatically upgrade your appliance firmware when Cloud Services is not configured:

Click Configure automatic upgrades.

The Automatic Firmware Upgrades window opens.

Click Perform firmware upgrades automatically

What is your firmware version ?

On locally managed R81.10.00 there is certainly a tick box to disable this in the Web-UI.

Given some time I will check it after converting a spare I have to centrally managed later and revert.

We are running 80.20.40 and only "Manual Upgrade" is shown. I thought the automatic upgrade is disabled by default.

I also think that - in the past, that a manual search shows a new firmware version did happen only very rarely !

I had a bad issue once with Safe@Office automatic firmware upgrade enabled - afterwards, no more internet for the customer because of a bug 😞 So i would suggest never to enable it at all and only install new firmware versions if bugs are fixed or features needed.

That would mean that the wrong GUI element is present in all Centrally Managed Administration Guides (copied from Locally Managed)...

But it really makes sense to leave the upgrades to the central management and never do automatic upgrades anyway 8)
