Hello everybody,

are there any plans to release a entry level small/medium business appliance with affordable 10G Interfaces? Something to compete with a Sophos XG210 or FG50X?

If you do compare the appliance models, you will find that the smallest appliance that can be equipped with 10GB IFs is the 5600 - it has 20.4 Gbps Firewall and 2.78 Gbps Threat Prevention Throughput. Any smaller one has not enough resources to justify - if the 1400 would be equipped with a 10GB IF, throughput would still be 1Gbps Firewall and 450 Mbps Threat Prevention Throughput.

At what throughput?
Just because an appliance has 10G interfaces doesn't mean you'll get 10G of throughput.
Unless the platform does more than 1GB of throughout, 10G connectivity doesn't make a ton of sense.

In any case, we do have some newer 1500 series appliances coming but not sure they'll support 10G.
