Degraded Internet Speed

Hi. Quantum Spark 1575 with firmware R81.10.17 (996004721). Our internet service is 300Mbs with a static IP. We upgraded this almost a year ago from 100Mbs service, our internet service is also a wireless type service due to where we live...boontoolies.

At any rate, our service ran exceptionally well for the first several months... average download being 250 - 290Mbs down & 80 - 120Mbs up. For the past couple months though, it has been struggling to reach 50Mbs down and at times it falls to lower than 5Mbs down. I have had the ISP techs out to troubleshoot their service. They found no issues with their service & left one of their routers with me to run so they would be able to monitor from remote. While their router has been in place, our service has shot back up to its previous high performing rates but as soon as I change it back to the 1575, our service speeds plummet. I have disabled everything in the gateway...firewall, IPS, specific access policies for geo blocking etc but, it made no difference. Help, not sure where to take it from here. This makes my job impossible to work at during the day since it involves having to download large sets of files multiple times each day.

The internet here is long range wireless. It is composed of repeaters on cell phone towers in various locations. Most if not all of their equipment from what their installers told me is Ubiquity equipment.

When using their router that was left here for me, I used a couple different software apps. Wifi-man, Cloudflare & speedtest.net I also have a Ubiquity UDM-ProSE that has a built-in ISP speed test that connects to various locations on the west coast of the US mainland. At least here in Alaska, those are the servers that the devices choose.

No VPN.

My day to day job subcontracts me to do construction type estimating for a company on the island of Oahu. I have to download plans / specifications etc with a lot of them approaching the size of 1 - 2 GB.

Super Seven is a new one to me but will work on using the commands in the up and coming week.

I mean the long range stuff can work, and if i understand correctly you already ruled out that it is an ISP correct? You did it to replace the CP firewall for ISP router and then connect laptop behind this. With this test you reached max speed I assume?

Many stuff can be wrong. Maybe run a doctor spark as a start. Could also be something simple like that there is an interface set to fix 100mbit or even 10. You claim that you have disabled all blades including firewall. This is not possible there will always be some kind of inspection you cannot turn a cp into a simple router device. It is of course possible to disable blades like IPS but firewall itself it is not possible.

Here how to run doctor spark:

https://sc1.checkpoint.com/documents/SMB_R81.10.X/AdminGuides_Centrally_Managed/EN/Content/Topics/DrSpark.htm

Sorry for being lax... My day job buried me with lots of last minute deadlines. The problem is as I had contended with the ISP for way too long. I finally was able to get a "knowledgeable" tier 2 tech to take time with me yesterday (3/4/2026) and he was able to correct the deficiency that really was their equipment and not my Spark 1575. I was not able to get very far with performing the suggested tests due to those last minute deadlines I mentioned but I am grateful that everyone here stepped up to help. That is much appreciated. All is back working as it is supposed to... speeds at or really near the 300mbs.
