In the specification for the 1400 series it says wan port supports Gigabit.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;/BODY&gt;&lt;/HTML&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;HTML&gt;&lt;HEAD&gt;&lt;/HEAD&gt;&lt;BODY&gt;&lt;P&gt;Yes, it can, and in fact it should.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;However, the 1000-Base-T standard requires autonegotiation to be enabled:&amp;nbsp;&lt;A class="link-titled" href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Autonegotiation" title="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Autonegotiation"&gt;Autonegotiation - Wikipedia&lt;/A&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;This is why when you try to fix the port to a specific speed/duplex setting, only 10/100 speeds are offered.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;/BODY&gt;&lt;/HTML&gt;</description>
