SMB backups always came with the formerly installed license included - it is the same pricinple as used in GAiA. Usually, either manually re-licensing in WebGUI or automated online license check will populate the license page with the correct MAC.

In your case, you should just:

- disconnect the old 1555 from cloud services

- perform backup

- restore backup to new 1555 and re-license it

- connect to coud services

I let one of my customer use a Quantum Spark 1555 Appliance and I did the full setup of it, then when receiving its new product I decided to create a backup of the POC and restore it on the new one. Imposible! it create such a mess that its impossible to troubleshoot.

Looks to me that the cloud configuration is migrated as well and create a conflict because the MAC ADDRESS, whishing I we were able to choose not to migrate parts of it OR the system restore should allow me to avoid certain parts of the configuration so it does not get into conflict with the former device.

At this point I am working typing everything all over again.

Hi,

Just to clarify, when you restored the backup file on the new gateway, did the new GW use the same activation key as the original gateway? Additionally, if you disconnect the new gateway from the cloud and create a new gateway object in the Spark Management, does everything work as expected?
