Does smart-1 manage CP1400 series and CP700 series?

HI everybody

Does smart-1 manage CP1400 series and CP700 series? Or can only be managed by SMP? CP700 and CP1400 seem to have no area in terms of parameters? Are there other important differences between CP700 and CP1400?

Smart-1 (with a software version/add on supporting it) can manage 1400 series SMB Appliances. Maybe you have the issue from sk111292 Missing Appliance type in SmartConsole Platform Hardware Type list ?

A 700 appliance can not be centrally managed and have limited functionality (notice the price difference ;-), but you can use them as externally managed gateways and have them log to your SMS, too.

Can the smart -1 be installed in Vmware Esxi to manage other CP gateways? If so, just buy the licenses ?

A Smart-1 is a CP appliance targeted only for SMS and SmartEvent - but the same software can be installed on VMware using the correct license.
