topic SND Adjacency in Hyperscale Firewall (Maestro)

Hello,

I've got 3 x 6400s in one SG

Intel Core i3-8100 CPU @ 3.6GHz, 4 cores

For performance reasons, the CoreXL allocation has just been modified to add 1 additional SND resulting in a 2/2 split (default 1/3).

After the change following reboot of each SGM, I notice the SND core allocations are not adjacent i.e. CPU 0/CPU2 (fw workers CPU1/CPU3)

Is it possible to configure the SNDs to be adjacent i.e. CPU0/CPU1 to take advantage of fast memory caches (Layer 2 fast cache) and pre-fetching?

Regards,

Simon

You can set the affinity of the 2 fw workers in the $FWDIR/conf/fwaffinity.conf Configuration File to be adjacent, see Performance Tuning R81.10 Administration Guide ! So SNDs get the other two adjacent CPUs as you want it.
