Hello,
I have two CP9100 appliances, which are Scalable Platforms for Maestro, and both of them are running R81.20.

Last time I asked about How to Install Deployment Agent on R81.20 Scalable Platform. Although I was told that the Security Group does not support installation, I came across the following statement in sk92449:

What confuses me is that, since a Security Group cannot have the Deployment Agent installed, why does this document state that I must install DA 2550 or higher in order to upgrade from R81.20 to R82?

Thank you.

Each SP version have DA supported version. keep in mind DA version for source version is year A and target is released years latter, therefor DA doesn't support upgrade package, that's why you have to upgrade DA as per each SP target.

Starting R82 we have unified versioning. so, you can upgrade DA starting R82.

Hey jack_723,

I had the same question. Can't figure out if I should, or should not update the Deployment Agent on my Orchestrators and SGMs, There seems to be some contradictory notes in the manuals.

Did you get a clear answer in the matter?

Thanks,

Ari

If you won't update the DA the Orchestrators or SGMs won't allow you to upload the R82 upgrade package.

Hi Ari_who,
You must install JHA first. After that, you can use the update_sp_da command to install the Deployment Agent.
For Example:
update_sp_da /var/log/DeploymentAgent_XXXXXXXXX.tgz

If you plan to upgrade to R82, follow the requirements below.(sk181127)
To upgrade a Scalable Platform from R81.10 or R81.20 to R82:

You must install a required Take of a Jumbo Hotfix Accumulator:

On R81.20 for Scalable Platforms - install the R81.20 Jumbo Hotfix Accumulator Take 92 or higher

On R81.10 for Scalable Platforms - install the R81.10 Jumbo Hotfix Accumulator Take 172 or higher

You must install the CPUSE Deployment Agent 2550 or higher from sk92449.

Hi,

In the past it wasn't supported to upgrade the Deployment Agent on Maestro or Chassis.
But if you want to upgrade to R82 you need to upgrade the Deployment Agent manually with the 'update_sp_da' command.

I have already upgraded two Maestro sets to R82 (from R81.20) with this procedure and this is the way to go.

Good luck.

Martijn
