Thanks for the reply, but I won't be able to connect to the device via USB for the next month. So how do you feel about creating site2?

Hello, we have created a security group and it is working on R82 JHT34. Due to some problems, one of the group members stopped working and we installed a new operating system on it (R81.20_T634). Now we need to add this member back to the existing site. Currently the member is in unassigned state. My question is, will there be any problems adding it back to the site? Should I add the member to the site and then upgrade it according to the sk or should I create a temporary site2 and add the member to it and upgrade it to R82 JHT34 there and then remove the updated member from site2 and add it to the main site? Thanks for the answer!

Ideally you use ISOMorphic and a USB key to clean install R82 onto the appliance before adding it to the security group. You won't be able to add it before fixing the version difference.

A temporary security group 2 that you add it to and then upgrade it may work, though I don't know how well the upgrade procedure works when you only have one member to upgrade.

Hi,

I don't think you can add a R81.20 SGM to a R82 Security Group. Even if you enable Image Cloning.
At least that is my experience when I created a new Maestro setup and one SGM was on R81.20 and the unassigned one was on R81.10.

I created a second (temporarily) Security Group, added the unassigned to this second Security Group and upgraded the SGM to R81.20. After the upgrade, remove the SMG, remove the second Security Group and assing the upgraded SGM to the correct Security Group. It is not needed to create a object in SmartConsole. You only need the Security Group to perform the upgrade.

If re-image is not possible, procedure above might be the best option.

Martijn
