You are changing the entire cluster methodology. Sync and everything needs to re-establish. I've done this before and it works well, but you never know if any of the connectings that is being handled by the firewall in the moment the cluster readjusts to another cluster operation will fail and needs to get reestablished.

Dear

We intend to change our cluster configuration mode from Load-sharing Unicast to HA. I would like to ask based on your experience some guidelines that should be taken into consideration before changing the cluster mode.

We intend to change in order to get back some of the performace settiings that are disabled when using Load-sharing.

Thanks in advance

You should check if one clusternode is capable of handling all the traffic itself. You can easily test this by running clusterXL_admin down on the other clusternodes prior to changing the clustermode.

During the cluster mode change you might experience a connection reset. So plan to change the cluster mode within a scheduled maintenance window.
