topic Product Center - device state? in General Topics

Hi,

just had a look to the product center (the new one where the search for comment does not work anymore ... ) and recognized a 'usage status' field. Can't remember that I saw this before.

Most devices are in unknown or in 'Not in use state' even they are licensed and under contract.

Is this a new feature? Some kind of a call home feature of gateways?

Or is this manual set, somehow?

Regards

I've not seen a specific SK article for this so I will suggest it be created, some things to explore:

- Do all the devices have Internet Access (sk83520)?

- Do the devices have duplicate/multiple licenses present that might prevent their telemetry being mapped to the correct CK/MAC/SN?

- Is the Management configured to share data (sk120332 / sk175504 / sk111080)?

- Is Usercenter Sync configured (sk94064)?

Are you able to send an example (screenshot)? Just blur out any sensitive data. I checked all the UC accounts I have access to (there is probably around 30) and all looks right.

Nm, I take back what I said before, was wrong (wont be first OR last time lol). Anywho, below is an example of what I saw for 2 of the accounts, sounds like same for you?

Just wondering WHY CheckPoint collects these data and WHAT CheckPoint collects (and the reason behind).

For customer I do not see benefit.

In the case of monitoring for "Pro Support" this detail is documented in sk120332 and related articles. Ultimately the telemetry expedites the support process in this scenario.

In other cases it could be considered for convenience and configurable / optional as noted.

It seems in this case you would simply ignore the status if there is no relevance for you.

Not sure what may had changed since Friday, but now I do see correct info for SOME accounts (seems totally random). For most of them , looks same like what you had sent.
