idrac - how to create account with admin role

Hi,

some tasks in the idrac requires admin role instead of operator role.

But I could not find a way to create it. sk176942 did not help.

Operator user does work but to less privleges

admin user permission can't be changed (no prvileges)

'cpidrac --generate_admin_password' command does not show the password

Any idea to how create an admin2 user with a dedicated password and admin role?

"iDRAC Firmware Version 7.00.00.181"

You understood that you are talking about the Dell iDRAC (Integrated Remote Access Console).

When I created the LOM info SmartConsole extension, I compiled a list of useful LOM commands, such as show lom, set lom (Gaia Clish - system mode, ipmitool (Gaia Bash - expert mode) etc. that might be of help for your demand, when you adjust the syntax accordingly.

The SmartConsole is not exactly what I was looking for. It provides a lot of output from gtaeways.

My goal was to simply add an admin user in iDEAC (basically on a MDSM).

That's why I suggested to check if ipmitool or set lom can help you further.
