We did it on offline Smart-1/gateways without issues, on webUI. We don't run MDPS in case it's relevant. You maybe ran into other dependencies. You probably mean 2606?

The CPUSE log files are:

/opt/CPInstLog/DA_UI.log

/opt/CPInstLog/DeploymentAgent.log

CPUSE v2606 manual installation failure

I've attempted a manual installation of CPUSE v2606 (Gaia webUI --> Upgrades (CPUSE) --> Status and Actions --> Install DA) on three appliances (two Smart-1, one 6200 gateway) and the installation simply spins at "Installing the Deployment Agent". Ironically, this seems to be the issue that 2606 is supposed to fix (sk92449 - Check Point Upgrade Service Engine (CPUSE) - Gaia Deployment Agent).

I did work with TAC and we were able to get the agent installed by unpacking the .tgz file and using the old school rpm -Uvh --force method. Still, not great that this new, recommended version introduces the problem it was meant to fix. Wondering if other have had the same experience.

Replying to my own post - I also tested installing via cli ("installer agent install ...") and this worked as it should. So it seems only the installation via the webUI is broken.

I will take a look at my logs on the three appliances for which this was a problem. Questions for those where it succeeded: what was the current installed version of CPUSE, and did it take any longer than normal manual upgrades ("normal" in my experience is about 10 seconds).

Actually, we have met this when doing offline updates from the WebUI on new R82 deployments. CLI works.
