What are the known limitations of 39XX R82.10 version compared to classic Gaia R82?

Can these be clustered?

Yes, with ClusterXL and later with ElasticXL.

Are the 39xx-models meant as replacement for the 19xx models?

No, they are replacements for the 3600 and 3800.
As for new SMB models, stay tuned. 🙂

If these appliances are running R82.10, is there a reason R82 hasn't been moved to the "recommended version" for all other appliances yet?

We plan to move R82 to be recommended release during July 2025.

Are dual power supplies supported?

The 3920, 3950 use dual external power supply. The 3970 and 3980 have built in dual power supply. The power supplies are not compatible with the older models

When is it planned to support ElasticXL on the 3900 gateways?

We expect to close this gap by end of Q3'25

Is Standalone functionality on the roadmap and if so, when?

It's not on the short term roadmap.

The Threat Prevention performance boost... does it apply to Open Servers or older Check Point appliances?

You should see a similar performance boost on these appliances as well, though it was not specifically tested.

Can the 3900 Series be managed by R82 or has to be R82.10?

R82 + JHF take 19 or later

What's the reason the 39xx appliances have slightly higher latency than the 9000 Series?

It is based on the compute power available for firewall traffic. Latency sensitivity is really dependent on the application. In algo-trading, latency is extremely important. Customers in that segment are looking for sub 3 microseconds of latency. We can provide this from the 9300 and up using the acceleration cards.

Does 3900 series has SP OS to be incorporated with the existing Maestro setup?

Not currently, but this is on the roadmap.

What functions require receiving all logs to Infinity Portal to work?

Playblocks requires it.
AI Co-Pilot currently requires this if you want to answer log-related questions.

When will the write mode in copilot be GA?

Write mode is on our longer term roadmap.

Do we have a way to demo policy auditor?

Policy auditor is not yet available. We hope to start EA soon. Once the EA starts you should be able to demonstrate it.

How do we enable the Policy Insights in R82?

In the coming days, a new Policy Insights card will be added in SmartConsole under the 'Infinity Services' tab allowing all customers to work and test Policy Insights

The performance improvement relates to when we do certain hash computations in Threat Prevention (not for IPS, but for other Threat Prevention blades).
It does not have a noticeable impact on other downstream numbers (e.g TLS performance with NGTP), thus why those numbers remain the same.

My understanding is that we should be updating the datasheets for the various Quantum Force appliances in the coming days.
The datasheets for the 3900s already reflect these changes.
