For a long while, I've been able to have some customizations to my SSHD configs in /etc/ssh/templates/sshd_config.templ and they were accepted by the XLATE parser just fine. Somewhere been R81.20 JHF 54 through 84, "something" has changed and now the parser dies with a call to "sed":

<LI-CODE lang="markup">[Expert@cpgw:0]# /bin/sshd_template_xlate < /config/active
sshd_config parsing starting.../usr/bin/sed: -e expression #1, char 4: unknown command: `
'
/usr/bin/sed: -e expression #1, char 4: unknown command: `
'
</LI-CODE>

The edit I have is for my remote management host to allow for some extra SSHD options in a new "Match address ..." stanza.

<LI-CODE lang="markup"># Example of overriding settings on a per-user basis
#Match User anoncvs
#	X11Forwarding no
#	AllowTcpForwarding no
#	PermitTTY no
#	ForceCommand cvs server

Match address 0::0/0,0.0.0.0/0
	PasswordAuthentication yes
Match address 192.0.2.1/32 # This is my remote host
	PasswordAuthentication yes
	AllowTcpForwarding yes
Match all
</LI-CODE>

I've moved that additional item around to other places and the error is the same.

What has changed, and why, and how can I get it working again? This has worked for years and years.

It's also similarly broken on R82.
This is probably going to require a TAC case.
I'll flag R&D on the backend also.

I read through the JHF release notes and see some "SSH" related items but nothing jumped out as a suspect. I'll open a TAC case about it, then. Dang.
