Hello! Will I be able to merge the 3100 and 3200 clusters? They even have the same name: PB-10. It seems that the hardware is completely identical. Will this be supported by the vendor?

Hi @Andrey_Gl !

If you want to create a cluster from different appliances, the answer is “not supported”.

The 3100 and 3200 have slightly different hardware (CPU speed, I believe).
ClusterXL only supports cluster members with IDENTICAL hardware.

ClusterXL operation completely relies on internal timers and calculation of internal timeouts, which are based on hardware clock ticks.

Therefore, in order to avoid unexpected behavior, ClusterXL is supported only between machines with identical CPU characteristics.

I'm pretty sure they have different core counts. @Andrey_Gl please run this command in expert mode on a 3100 and on a 3200:

grep "model name" /proc/cpuinfo | head -n 1

It's definitely not supported, but it may be possible to get it to work as a transitional state (e.g, to replace a faulted cluster member with hardware you have on hand while trying to get a better match).
