Unable to remove evaluation license

Hi All,

Good day. We have encountered a license error on one of our gateways. IPS License is about to expire. As checked this is only a trial/evaluation license but we didn't installed this eval license it only appear.

This is the license

We tried to remove it using CPLIC Del but its unable to delete the eval license.

We can't use this SK https://support.checkpoint.com/results/sk/sk171072 because it require downtime due to cpstop and cpstart.

Also, we notice that the contracts expiration is not the same on the license. Does this error might cause by outdated contracts? If we update the contract this license error will be remove?

That is a trial license that is automatically generated by the box. As you have IPS as part of the main license, this should not be an issue. SmartConsole will often alert based on the first to expire license/contract instead of the last one, until a day after the trial expires.

But how come we encounter the license error the appliance is not new. Its been working ever since then this error came out.

And is there a way to delete that trial license? CPLIC DEL is not working on this one and the below SK have a downtime.

As the article says, it's cosmetic and will disappear when it expires. I can't say why it appeared. Other than the procedure in the SK I don't know of a way to remove it. If it was working before the trial appeared then it's expected to keep working after it disappears but if you have concerns and which to validate everything, please contact TAC for a proper investigation.

Just leave it as it is, the PnP (Plug and pray) license will vanish by itself, this is a purely cosmetic error even though the customer troubled. Or do you see a non-working IPS blade?

You can remove it easily by doing below command, but then you would probably be seeing warnings for every time you run regular commands.
