check point system backup confirmation

Hi Team,

I want to know about checkpoint backup. What is different between system backup and snapshot backup?

Can we fully restore with system backup like checkpoint configuration, all the previous setting, gateway & culluster information and all the policy as well licenses? Please help someone.

Hi,

Best Practices - Backup on Gaia OS (checkpoint.com) is a good starting point to learn about Check Point backups and restore.

When restoring a backup, you must be on the same software and hotfix level as the system you created the backup from.
A snapshot is a complete image, so a long as you have a base version installed on the system, you can restore from a snapshot.
