In the interest of avoiding fat fingered mistakes, I have tried to get into the habit of only using the read-only mode when using SMC. However the sessions created from that never get removed and I have to log in with read-write and clear them out myself. Nor do these sessions appear to be affected by SMC Idle Timeout setting.

Was this a known defect or should I open a TAC case for this?

I can't reproduce this in my lab running R81.20.

Two things regarding the idle timeout setting:

Did you "install database" for the Management after from the Menu

When was it activated relative to these sessions as it only applies upon next login / new session

I am only running R81.10 (Take#95) for the management server. I will retry performing Install database again to see if that helps. I understand that existing sessions are not affected by the idle time-out, all the read only ones were newer / more recent.
