NAS being dumb and not using Cluster MAC. Is there something like VPC peer gateway for Checkpoint?

Hi All,

I have a small issue, it appears that we have NAS devices that are unable to use the cluster MAC addresses correctly.

Site A and Site B have checkpoints in a cluster. They have NAS A and NAS B in the respective locations as well.

When we fail over traffic from Site A to Site B, everything works except the NAS.

The NAS in site B still attempts to connect to the checkpoint hardware MAC in site A.

Cisco have something called VPC peer gateway to resolve issues like this but we are using the Checkpoints as Gateways.

Does Checkpoint have something similar? Since the NAS is not very smart, we might need to help it along.

VMAC is the alternative option you can leverage so each cluster member shares a virtual address for the cluster reducing the reliance on ARP/GARP.
