Hi Experts

We are migrating from traditional VPN node to simplified vpn mode. Conversion tool will create a new policy package during the migration.

As of now the current policy package that is installed on gateway has to be replaced with the new policy package created during the conversion process.I need clarification on below points:

1. Will the active connection on the gateway get dropped when the new policy package is installed ? Will there be an outage ?
2. Do we first need to uninstall the current policy package on the gateway and the install the new policy package .OR we can just push the new policy package to the gateway without uninstalling the old policy package ?

Regards,
Sijeel Malik

Installing a different policy package will give you a warning in SmartConsole but it’s more of an FYI versus a problem.

Installing policy in general (whether it’s a new one or not) can be disruptive in certain instances, yes.
See: https://supportcenter.checkpoint.com/supportcenter/portal?eventSubmit_doGoviewsolutiondetails=&solutionid=sk103598&partition=Basic&product=IPSec
