Mgmt server r80.30 and gateway r80.40

Hi Expert,

Is it possible/recommended to have the gateways on high os version r80.40 and mgmt server on a lower version r80.30.

What are the checkpoint recommendations?

My understanding is that the mgmt server should neveer be on a lower version than the gateways.

We run this for a short period of time.

However, due to missing 'features/display issues we then upgraded mgmt as fast as possible again to 'same version'.

so its better to upgrade mgmt to r80.40. What sort of display issues we are talking about and what are the missing features

hi, we experienced issue with drop down menus. Missing entries.

You can manage an R80.40 gateway from R80.30 provided you are on the appropriate JHF level.
However, you will be limited to R80.30 gateway features.
It’s recommended you upgrade your management to R80.40 or R81, though.

hi,

we don't see "Missing entries" on QA . if managing R80.30 GW or R80.40 GW , MGMT have the same entries and menus .

could be that comparing to R80.40 MGMT , R80.30 MGMT looks different . ( as already suggested )

if the issue persist - please share details

Hi, found old screenshot. Missing Cluster member menu.

But as mentioned, the issues does not persist anymore. Both are on R80.40, now.
