If you have regular backup, you could restore from it. Also, if you have MGMT HA, there is a standard procedure you can perform, as mentioned in the other comment.

So it is a hardware appliance smart 1-225 and our primary failed, so I opened a ticket with checkpoint for an RMA, it arrived 2 days back and just want to kknow what I have to do to fully integrate it into the environment, the instructions I received from support was to swap hard drive, ram, any other modules present and that's it, so is that all I have to do or is there something else I need to do when replacing it with the old faulty one?

Thanks and Regards.

What was the cause?

sk114933 may be relevant here, then the new node would be installed as a secondary.

do not knoe the exact cause, just know that weve been having issues with this particular management server since last year as it would always disconnect from the smartconsole and would have to reboot multiple times to get it to work, so finally it gave in as this time most commands wouldnt execute including reboot command so i opened a ticket with checkpoint and explained the issue and their suggestion was an rma, maybe they will know the exact issue when i ship back the old one to them.

Only thing to remember is that MAC address has changed, and appliance licenses are bound to the MAC. After power on, management server will have the old HD with old license and you will have to install the new license asap.

hi so the standby server we have is already the secondary server so is there a reason to make the new one the secondary? shouldnt it be the primary like the old one was?
