While you can do this (it's called a Full HA configuration), you're better off in the long run installing management separately in a VM or Open Server.

Hi @apoorv1991

I don't understand the question 100%.

For ClusterXL HA you need a ClusterXL object.

Here's what to do if you already have central management:

Attention: First make a snapshot of the old systems and run a migrate export on the management server.

1) Configure one of the applications with new IP addresses and networks to the existing network.

2) Create a new Cluster objekt an add the new configured appliance + Initiate the SIC

3) Get the topology

4) Set the VIP IP's and the IP spoofing as with the old standalone gateway.

5) Add the new cluster objekt to the policy

6) Remove the old standalone gateway from policy

7) In a maintenance window: Power off the old standalone appliance.

8.) Now install the policy for the new cluster

9) If everything works with one gateway in the cluster:

10) Configure the second applications with new IP addresses and networks to the existing network.

11) Add the second appliance to the cluster object + Initiate the SIC

12) Get the topology

13) Install the policy

Hi

Try How to install Full HA cluster on Check Point appliances

https://supportcenter.checkpoint.com/supportcenter/portal?eventSubmit_doGoviewsolutiondetails=&solutionid=sk60443

Please not that this is HA since LS is not supported in R80.20/R80.30
