Hi All,

We have R77.10 gateway in cluster. NTP is not working. NTP configuration is correct. I can reach NTP server.

when ran ntpq i can see st is showing value 16, refid = .INIT. and reach = 0 . ntpd is also running.

I ran tcpdump on firewall to see if any request is being initiated. but no traffic found for firewall and NTP server.

is sk98758 relevant for this issue?

Thanks

What I do know about the early R77 editions was that NTP did not work when you us a server by dns name.

Hi Maarten_Sjouw,

We are not using DNS name in configuration. we provided IP of NTP server.

Why are you still holding on to R77.10? The NTP problems were solved in 77.30 and later versions. when you are planning to do an upgrade and do not have to much time float without NTP I would just leave it for now.

You might try using periodic ntpdate commands to keep the clock in sync instead of ntpd.
This can be called via cron periodically.
Otherwise I suggest upgrading to a supported release.
