Hey,

Did change the Mgmt servers/IPs couple of times, and my advise is to do your homework and sketch your plan.

Like Val said, is recommended to get a new Management machine and export the data from the old one to the new one.

You can get a demo license until you transfer everything.

The change of the Mgmt IP is not an IP change, as the GW's are tight to that box in order to get policies, updates, etc.

So in order to get a new manager, I would recommend to take it step by step and move a GW or cluster at a time and see that all is OK, prior to stop/delete the other old one .

Thank you,

PS: if you come with a plan we can say what you missed and guide

Good morning,

For company needs, we have to change the IP of our Endpoint Mangement server, which is located in a virtual machine.
We have the ability to snapshot the current machine and bring it up on another location, keeping the source machine on for a while.

We have seen the SK 65451 but this is not our enviroment and it seems like the command sysconfig has been deprecated so we can't change the IP address.

How could we change the IP of the new machine in this case? How do we tell the clients that are connected to the original machine to change the IP they are pointing to?
Could you tell us the best method to perform an orderly migration from one endpoint server to the other?

Thank you!

Figures. Run migrate_export on your source machine, install a new clean one with the new IP address, run migrate_import to restore your management server on it with the new IP address. Mind all central licenses, they will need to be changed as well.

Understood. So, it is better to make a clean installation with the new IP than to clone the VM and then change the IP.

And what about telling the clients that are currently connected to the original server to change the IP they are pointing to?

Many thanks in advance

For your GWs, you may want to add a dummy management server object with the new IP on the old SMS, and push policy to all GWs. Also, mind central licenses.
