topic Application Control in R81 in Endpoint

Question, my company is hot on the topic of creating a "White List" of apps that can run on our corporate's PC's. Upgrading to R81 soon and was wondering how this is achieved? I know about the appscan tool but have not used it yet. So the idea is to take a golden image and run the appscan tool on. But what if down the road a newer version of a program comes out, do I then need to run the appscan tool again? That would make for a lot of manual work. Thanks in advance for any help you can provide!

I presume you will need to run the appscan tool again when a new version of a program is deployed.
Yes, the need for that incurs some administrative overhead.
