VPN connection, a message appears 5 minutes before the access is terminated

After 12 hours of VPN connection, a message appears 5 minutes before the access is terminated asking if I want to extend seamlessly by entering my password. Can this warning message be postponed, i.e. not 5 minutes before the session expires, but 30 minutes or so?
