Policy servers are put in to relieve the load from your primary management server and manage most communication with your clients, for example your endpoint clients will get AV updates from the policy server, rather than the management server. Policy servers can also reduce the bandwidth between sites (although that's not always the case!)

Only your management server will be setup as a primary and secondary, policy servers aren't setup that way.

I'm trying to understand the difference between the Endpoint Manager and the Endpoint policy server. In our environment we have a two endpoint Managers a Primary and a secondary and two policy servers one as primary one as secondary.

What is the functionality of the Endpoint Manager vs the Endpoint Policy server?

Thanks

DT
