Hi all-

I have a network with a number of R73 clients on Windows 7, and ultimately I want to upgrade to a flavour of R80. The management server will also be upgraded.

As there's no clear upgrade path from R73 to R80 for clients, I need to remove the R73 client from each machine first.

However, this is failing from the CLI.

We're running the command:

setup.exe -s -f1"C:\MediaEncryption\Uninstall.iss"

As found on this page:

https://supportcenter.checkpoint.com/supportcenter/portal?eventSubmit_doGoviewsolutiondetails=&solutionid=sk105605

Although we can see msiexec instances appear and disappear in task manager/event viewer, and event viewer seems to show success, the client installation persists afterwards.

Would be good to hear of any ideas anyone has. Thanks in advance-

R73 - afaik, support ended in March 2015 latest. I would consult TAC...

Hi GW-

Yes, it did indeed, and the TAC are involved already- thanks though. I was just wondering if I was missing something.

All i still have found is sk99116 Best Practice - Upgrade from R73 to E80. Client uninstall had been a pita from time to time, i still remember... Shortest end of the stick was Win EPSS server uninstall, though !

I'm really curious what the ultimate plan for these PCs is since Windows 7 is just about End of Support.
