GAIA API v1.8

Unless I'm mistaken, there's no endpoint for verifying if the Expert authentication is set to shared or user password.

The method I see for now is to use the show-expert-password endpoint.

If the password hash is empty, it's either not set or set to user-authentication.

There's also the possibility to run a script for this via the API and check the result but it's rather clunky and we prefer specific endpoints.

Is this correct? If yes, will it be added in a future release?

Not familiar with the "user password" option for expert authentication.

It is possible to configure either a shared password or the user password to access expert mode.

MyGW> set expert-authentication-method shared-password user-password MyGW> set expert-authentication-method user-password

Definitely is, I see its same output in R82.

From what I can tell, that feature was added in R82, which explains why I wasn't familiar with it.
And, you are correct, no API endpoint for it currently.
I've flagged the relevant R&D team on it.

It's present since R81.

But I must admit I missed it until recently. But we are looking into this option to be our new default.
