A session is only valid in one domain (global or otherwise).
At the API level, that requires providing the login credentials for each domain you wish to connect to.
I presume SmartConsole does this under the covers.

With SmartConsole one can login and auth to the MDS then subsquently launch a session with a CMA/domain without entering auth credentials again.

Can one establish an API session to an MDS, then another API session with a CMA/domain without additional login credentials?
