Add host with duplicate ip address

Hello There,

I want to add host via web service. There is a naming convention I am using while adding hosts.

what if I am adding host with the same name and same IP address again.

What will be the response and how this "set-if-exists" will help me?

Same name and IP address will give you an error unless you add it with set-if-exists true.
This will update the existing object with whatever else you specify in the payload.
Different object name but IP address/network already used will give you a "warning" and fail unless you specify ignore-warnings true.
