Upgrade from R77.30 to R80.40 on 3200 appliance

Hi All,

I would like to upgrade from R77.30 to R80.40 on 3200 appliance.

Can someone has done the upgrade on these platform and what are the challenges faced. I know it is supported and let me the steps to upgrade and request your suggestion or recommended OS to upgrade.

What version is your SMS ? Challenges are not the upgrade but changing policy, TP settings e.o. to use the new R80.40 gains !

Hi Albrecht, We have two 3200 gateway which is in cluster and act as a management and firewall, so there is no separate management server.

I run the CPUSE verifier, it shows no error. As you mentioned policy changing, so do we have to create all the policy again?

Given that you are in a Full HA cluster, the biggest challenge you’ll face is that R8x management requires more resources (RAM/CPU) than R77.x.
I would strongly consider obtaining an external management server or use Smart-1 Cloud versus sticking with a Full HA config.
